I don't know who's reading this.

Maybe someone after a long night shift. Maybe someone who just quit their nutrition plan again. Maybe someone wondering why it always feels like they're fighting against themselves.

I want to say one sentence before anything else:

You're not broken.

Why that matters

Most shift workers I've talked to — and I've talked to a lot — eventually come to believe they have a problem that others don't. Too little discipline. Too weak a character. Too much weakness.

That's wrong. And it's a lie that forms when you measure yourself for years against standards built for a different life situation.

Shift work is biologically hard. That's not an opinion — decades of research show it. Elevated cardiovascular risk, higher rates of metabolic syndrome, sleep disorders, social isolation. These are real effects of a real strain.

What that means

It doesn't mean there's nothing to be done. It means you're starting from a different point than someone who doesn't work shifts. And that you need a system that knows that.

Not harder. Not more willpower. A system that works with your biology instead of against it.

That's all Das Schichtsystem is. No promise. No transformation. A system that understands how you live — and shows you how to live better within it.

You're not broken. You just haven't had a system that was made for you yet.
